Considering Pregnancy with Endometriosis

by | Jul 12, 2016 | Endometriosis, Fertility

Some women discover their condition of endometriosis when they have trouble becoming pregnant. If conception is your goal, making the choice among current fertility options- medications, IVF, or surgery is complex. Non-surgical treatments can be a lengthy process, taxing to maternal health, and often are not covered by insurance.

Finding the right medical partner to discuss pursuing pregnancy with endometriosis is very important. Your decision depends on many factors- the severity and prevalence of your disease, maternal age, general health, heredity, and previous treatments (if any). Investigating all of your options with this complex disease can be quite challenging.

As a board-certified gynecologist, I am experienced in helping clients all over the country with endometriosis who have pregnancy as a goal. I specialize in laparoscopic excision of Endometriosis. Patients come to my center for me to remove all endometriosis and associated fibrosis, and to achieve pain relief. There is nothing that will improve the chance for a successful pregnancy better than complete removal of endometriosis and restoration of normal anatomy. This is why many of our patients have gone to have successful pregnancies. I am available to understand your specific needs, present options, and form a sensible plan.

Managing your life with this condition while achieving your goals of pregnancy and productive life beyond endometriosis is my life’s work. I am happy to help plan both your options for pregnancy and for your healthy, pain-free life beyond
